    From Dean Bridge, just up the road. I walk over the bridge almost every time I walk into town. I never feel I've taken a decent shot of the view. Maybe a wide-angle lens would do it more justice. Anyway...

    Needs some smoke rising from all the chimneys...

    I think that is an excellent shot Rob and quite wide enough with a very good flow to the composition. And I like the treatment very much.

    Thanks, Pete. It's certainly the best I've taken of that view. Light changes everything, all the time.

    it's one of those classic shots where you can't tell what time period it was taken in, bit of old and new all at once.

    This is more than decent Rob; it is superb. It has a beautiful timeless feel to it and I find my eye is invited into the picture by the positioning of the church spire. I could go on .... and I will:). It is perfectly processed as well.

    Very nice Rob but you can't fool me, you took that 100 years ago. I know you did so just own up.

    Funny to get all these comments now. I put this up over a year ago. Welcome, though!

    So why did you wait 98 1/2 years to post it?

    Superb rob, like it a lot. Like the lower houses and the white triangles shapes and bend of the street dwellings of into the distant tower and chimneys. Superb.

    Thanks, Julian. It's a very nice little village within the centre of Edinburgh. No more than five minutes walk from Princes Street. Rather expensive!

    Rob;

    That's SUBLIME. Love the effect -- style -- gritty approach. So beautiful. That capture should be proudly displayed in an Art Gallery..!!

    Respect Sir.

    Taken on the X100 ?

    Thanks, Peter. Yes, the old X100 without the S. Very nice camera.

    What's the difference between the standard X100 and the 'S' version ?

    I remember it. I think I said it reminded me of a photo taken in the 1800s, or something like that. Anyway, liked it then, like it now!
