So the other week I went to Licky Hills in Birmingham and took some portraits for fun, really enjoyed messing with the light. The sun was setting and the trees were making great shadows to play around with. Let me know your thoughts!
#2 works really well - the backlighting makes the most of the available light in a very complimentary way. #3 would be a great stock shot - I could imagine a catalogue using such an image, or a magazine doing an article on tree huggers LOL
thanks chris, will try to find a story about hugging trees'. In fact I reckon theres been a study saying that hugging tree's is good for well-being or something like that
The tree hugging shot is great. It's the sort of thing you see on websites of companies that like to tell you how much they care.
Some nice shots there Matthew, thanks for posting. My favourite is No 1 although I would be tempted to crop a bit of the tree on the left. What is the source of the red glow on her face in No 2 - a reflection off leaves? As Chris says, tree hugging shot could easily sell as a stock image I would think. I suspect there are some more specialised sites that handle images of young ladies tied to trees as well, but lets no go there
yer i struggled abit with the cropping of no1 (I dont change the original dimensions of my pictures) I think its just the light coming around her head in no2, there might be abit of reflection but can't be much I can point you towards websites like that but we should talk in private...jokes
i like the one with the lens flare ... that sorta lark is v fashionable at the moment ... you only have to look at the photography in topshop/topman to see a lot of that sort of thing ...
I was going to specifically remark about oil companies but didnt in the end. Good to see that someone picked up on what sort of company I was reffering to.
