This was taken in the meditational area of a Monastery in Switzerland which had an amazingly tranquil feel to it. So I decided that what it needed was a hint of menace! I was trying to get to a point where the building surrounding this orchard felt like a sanctuary from the real world. Not sure I have managed it yet though.

Works for me. The way the trees are leaning in and towards the building provide a sense of encroachment. I get the feeling if that you look away or blink, they will edge a little closer. The real world has a shadows, but the contemplative world does not - judging from this image.

    Good one, Pete.

Thanks, Rob. I was aiming for a kind of dark woods feel with the tree holding one back from sanctuary.

Just to be awkward, that does have an air of menace to me, but the other way round. The dark woods looks mysterious and interesting, the whitewashed walls remind me of an old assylum. I would long to escape into the woods!

Well, what do you expect from a tree-hugger. :D
