Question for Nikon Z owners

I can't believe that my new 180-600 F5.6/6.3 is STILL a little short for my bird photos. I know that at that aperture, an extender, even a short 1.4, might be ill advised. Has anyone used one successfully? I'm currently shooting at F16 and it barely gives me the DOF I need. I'm thinking that the addition of an extender might push me over the edge.

Any ideas?

I answered my own question today. I had Amazon overnight me one and I tested it. The results were very poor, in spite of the glowing reviews I read online.
