Waiting for the sunset (which didn't happen) at Sounion.

Ooh... I think it's nicer without a distracting sunset :)

Thanks Lesley. The seafood meal after was good anyway so it was worth the 1 hour drive! ;)

Is that not a bit of sunset glow on the columns. Nice pic Pete, not having eaten for 24 hours, a sea food meal sounds as good as it gets.

Agree with Lesley - no sunset required

In fact the clouds add to the perspective of the temple

@Glenn Clabo - grilled octopus? I'd rather eat my trainers! :D

    Thanks Beth and Chris.

The temple is oriented East - West and the sun was supposed to sink into the sea in a blaze of glory just to the left of the island. Instead, it vanished into the cloud on the horizon with just the faintest of glows. But, I was happy with the shot anyway. The sky was also pretty nice a few minutes before though.

Now, that's a beautiful shot. Love the hat!

If you had watched a particular episode of QI, you would know that the sun is not really there...

That's actually a colleague / friend. And he found that hat in a bush at the bottom of the hill half an hour earlier! A proper Panama.

I missed the 2nd one 1st time around. Now I know what the hat reference was about. Lovely shot, Pete.
