thanks folks
i will explain the roundabout
think of a waltzer ( fairground ride ) car and it's quite similar in it has closed in seats but with 2 openings to get in or out so when the child / children are sat in it they are enclosed apart from where you can see them through the gaps/openings...
took this this evening of my son and daughter playing in the park and converted to black n white
looks ok to me but a second opinion wouldn't go astray
thanks for looking and your thoughts would be appreciated
thats what paul gadd ( gary glitter ) thought
but it wasn't just a bit of pirate software that was the issue on his pc ( BBC News | UK | Glitter jailed over child porn ) and rightly so i would have shopped him in a heartbeat
pirate software i don't care about thats up to them
as...
it does with the 1.4 extender because you only lose 1 stop bringing it to F5.6 but with the 2x extender you lose 2 stops making it F8 and if your using a canon 2x extender it will disable auto focus unless you mask off 3 of the pins to fool the camera
3rd party extenders however ( kenko etc.. )...
well if you want to get the best out of wildlife i think you do jim but i'l struggle on :)
the 1.4 extender does quite a reasonable job without too much loss chris so i don't mind using it
the 300mm F 4L are pin sharp to start so you can afford i little softening i havn't tried a 2x converter...
what size prints do you plan on selling ?
it is getting to the stage where printing your own images on an inkjet printer is more costly than having them printed by a 3rd party
for example a 10 x 8 print can be had by the likes of snapfish for as little as 99p and 6 x 4 prints done in bulk (...
love the 2nd photo i don't see that many round the areas i generally go for wildlife iv'e been meaning to get myself to tatton park during the rutting season
we will see if it happens this year
thanks for the warm replies
i used a canon 50d with the 300mm F4 L and a 1.4x converter it just about gets you close enough for the more common stuff but the species i really want to capture could do with an extra couple of hundred mm at least
for example while i was photographing the usual...
took the camera out today to one of my local spots so i thought i would post a couple of the results
Male Bullfinch
female Bullfinch
Bluetit
male Chaffinch
and finally the inevitable Robin
cheers for looking
i enjoyed reading through this thread but some of the stuff i have never heard of
i when't through the HIFI stage back in the 80s / 90s and more or less gave up in the 00's
during the early 80's i was dabbling with hifi and settled for an odd system consisting of an LP12 with the alphason HR...
thanks for the warm welcome :)
it's the northwest UK Ralph and i don't really bother with football Rob i suppose if i had to choose a team it would be bolton wanderers just out of town loyalty but thats about it
i'l get round to a few photos in the near future iv'e noticed a lot of you are...
hi everybody just thought i would say hello
my main interest is wildlife at the moment but have a large enough family to keep me going on the portrait side ( if i can get them to sit still long enough )
any way i will try to join in when i can
cheers
