I may go back to MF full time. Too many fit/operational compromises with 35mm. Whenever I rent a MF back, it's like I've pulled a beautiful luxurious coat around me. Have you had a chance to try Zerene?
@Hamish: the lens is a Fujinon-EX 90/5,6, for enlargements. I must be mounted on a bellows or other 引き延ばし machinery in order to function. This particular lens illuminates a frame up to 7x6 format. Wider angle and shorter focal length enlargement lenses illuminate far smaller circles, some...
First, the review link: Novflex BALPRO T/S review Part 1: stability and stacking
As some of you know, I am a still life audiophile photographer. My clients are magazines, boutique shops, and large manufacturers. I get called in to shoot hard stuff like earphones (believe me... these things are...
I should have the review done with examples of what can and cannot be done in my line of work with the VCC Pro by next Wednesday. Stacking is a big no no.
Wow, the logo came out so clean and nice and there is heaps of texture. Well done. It would be great in an independent magazine spread, maybe a double. It's great. Got all the necessaries to make people want to know more about the product. Crazy angle. My widest lens is 50mm!
I didn't get new commercial stuff in till too late, so the review I make will be a half-arsed attempt at being real. If lucky, I'll be able to publish it next week. I'll do my best.
I'm sorry, that is the one I used. Very clever, but not the range of movements I need. I used it at CP+2014. I may see if I can get a loaner. It could be great with light LF enlarger lenses and light mirrorless bodies.
I have used the universal bellows from Novoflex. They are a good design, and one I was thinking about, but they offer very minimal movements next to a view camera back. For my work, that's all I need really beside stability. The Novoflex surprised me as being more stable than I expected. If they...
It is an interesting device, for sure, that for the lad or lass who wants more than a tilt/shift lens can do, is a winner. The m39 lenses I've used for it are great and can be had for a song.
I have been borrowing the VCC Pro for about a week now. The images its inexpensive Rodagon 80/4 and 60/4 produce are better than my 1st-gen Nikkor 85/PC, but the VCC Pro isn't quite as stable. I feel that it is a decent system for someone who doesn't want to purchase an expensive tilt-shift lens...
I'm sorry that I didn't reply sooner. Very sorry. Okay, I suppose you like the soft focus up close? Or is it the glow? Or is it the soft semi-onion OOF highlights? All of that is coupled with crazy contrast (I assume that is shot wide open). That's a smooth bokeh that is pretty typical of fast...
I use acrylic. Glass is better if in opaque blocks, but is so hard to handle in a small place. Acrylic tends to die every two weeks or so. A waste of a nasty chemical compound
