RESIZING FOR PRINT - Process before or after resizing.

yep, Cheers all, Processing isn't a problem, I've been shooting raw since day 1 it's the optimisation of the print that I'm asking. i'll open another thread concerning ICC profiles (more variation) But here I'm just asking the opinion as to resizing/enlarging the file before processing or after...

RESIZING FOR PRINT - Process before or after resizing.

This is what I was thinking...! Final jpeg sorted, looking lovely. Now, resize it and start pulling them lovely balanced pixels about... Tragedy no! So, would it be wiser to resize the image first and then beautify your pixels? Although, Does PS have to create pixels when enlarging...

    RESIZING FOR PRINT- PROTECTING PIXELS

so regarding the small file sizes.. save for web options. I can export a small jpg 600x400px gives me a file size of 250k +/- from LR PS5,, That save for web box has alot of options! Ideally of course, I would like small file sizes but as high quality viewing as possible on mobile devices...

    RESIZING FOR PRINT- PROTECTING PIXELS

So, Resizing... My questions here are a bit rambling as this multi faceted subject leaves me unable to pinpoint a specific element of the whole process. I've been looking at ordering prints from printspace.com - great paper/print range. Anyway, They recommend resizing images to the same size...

    RAW - help required!

that's right, Edit > Edit In > Ps5 You have me fuddled now though! What you are saying is Lr is in effect a raw converter.. But am I missing anything by 'bypassing' an actual Raw converter ? ACR is the footprint program that LR is written on, I think, just more bells and whistles added in LR..

    RAW - help required!

All my raw work is done in LR, Normally the only thing I will do to a normal photograph (posters, flyers, digital art aside) in PS is maybe a little curves, some content aware fill where necessary (litter, cigarette butts etc), and always a high pass filter instead of destructive sharpening... I...

    500mm Mirror lenses.

Ha! Thanks Pete, I don't think I need much pushing into trying one, Any particular brand you know of are better than others..? Tamron seems to look like a sturdier unit than some of the generics.. I could be put off mirror lenses for life by a bad copy I suppose.. The equation works ok for me...
