A Spring walk, and testing a newly acquired 10-18 Vivitar zoom.

As per the tile, testing out a 10-17 Vivitar zoom on my trusty canon 1100. I think we are going to get along OK.

A great shot. I rarely think to use the camera in my phone, which is much higher res. than the DSLR I am currently enjoying! You have inspired me to use my phone camera more.

Today's storm, and getting to grips with an elderly Nikon D50

As per the title, we had a storm this afternoon, and it was a chance to try out the Nikon D50 that I recently inherited. It had the Tamron 18-200 lens fitted for this shot, but I intend to try out the genuine Nikon lenses that came with it. The Tamron can be a little indecisive when auto...

    It has been a while!

Very pleased that it was a success for you. Did they correct the mistake by laser? I can never forget my first eye being operated on. Within minutes of coming out of the surgery, I could see more clearly than I had done for years.

    It has been a while!

Haven't been on the forum for quite some time, and not very active with cameras, mainly due to temporarily losing my vision, which is not ideal for photography! Because of the miracle of lens implants, my cataracts are now history, and my eyesight is possibly better than it ever was. This is...

    My First Cat Shot

I agree that the depth of field and tones have made this a very good shot. Reminds me of a cat I had when I was a kid!

    Any Recommendations for a Tripod?

Thanks that is the sort of thing I had in mind. I should have said around £200, now edited. Indestructible sounds good as I fall over a lot!

    Any Recommendations for a Tripod?

Probably asked a lot, but my needs are quite specific and I would welcome any thoughts: I don't use a tripod a lot so don't want to spend a fortune. I don't have much room as I live on a boat, so need one that folds up small. Doesn't need to be all singing and dancing as will be used for...

A few more shots of the Shropshire Union Canal from our journey.

Many thanks! The Shropshire Union Canal (the Shroppie) takes you through some varying and beautiful landscapes. It is 50 years since I first ventured onto it, but now spend much of the summer on this canal before returning to our winter mooring.

A few more shots of the Shropshire Union Canal from our journey.

Still learning the EOS and Gimp software (do we ever stop learning? I hope not!). Any tips for improvement always welcome.

Critique Welcomed The Luma Light Bulb Factory--Glasgow

A great pic of very interesting architecture. Also a very interesting story to its background.

    Rolls in mono.

Very kind of you to say so! I am getting to grips with digital after being a 35mm user for many years! Yes the guys who maintain these old gems really make the pics. That said I have a thing about rusty cars for some reason!
