Yes Rob, they are often on this same thistle, or at least for the last few days. Its as if they want to cuddle each other.
The pic does look a bit over sharpened now I see it posted.

I took a couple of shots of bees on a flower at The Getty Center last week. Though I might post something up on RPF. Alas, my bee photo skills leave much to be desired. In short, I stink at flower/bee shots. I therefore have a very much more keen appreciation today of what it takes to get a good one.

Thanks Brian, I can assure you I have many awful bee shots. from my experience the colours of the bubble bee are hard to get crisp clarity, much easier with honey bees. Not sure if it is the yellows.

I know it took quite a few shots to get this one. I am often to afraid to get into the diffraction zone. Went out today and tried a few very tight f16 -f20 shots and they are better than I thought they would be.
