5-mile walk in the bracing air

From South Queensferry through the Dalmeny Estate to Cramond Brig, where I treated myself to a nice steak, followed by Christmas pudding. Yum. No rain, but a biting wind. Loved every minute of it.

DP2M with yellow filter. SPP. Sorry there are so many. I made a slideshow, but failed to upload it...

Excellent Rob, I enjoyed the walk also. The image here and those on Filckr with the trees and the digger with the piles of soil are among my favourite. Excellent juxtapositions of nature and man.

Thanks, lads. I've been feeling in a rut lately, and the walk helped clear my head a bit, and one or two of the photos are not bad.

This is the one Julian refers to:

Yes Rob Like it a lot. My first thoughts with what I assumed were piles of soil, along with the digger a new housing estate being built, Just shows what we or I at least project. The juxtaposition for me were the wonderful trees and man ripping up the countryside .
Anyway now I know it is salt , I'd have taken that plastic bag out of my camera bag and taken a year or two's supply home ;)

Thanks, Julian. Yes, I couldn't believe that dip, with the wee island in the distance. Just begging to be photographed.

It was a good walk, and I'll doubtless be out there again before long. I maybe won't upload quite so many shots next time!

@Steve Boykin - it would be the perfect place for your dogs. I didn't see one dog, or even one human throughout the entire walk. But it is part of the National Cycle Network, so I expected a few cyclists, but not one in sight.

A cracking set Rob...a winters day walk can often clear the head and senses...

A fine set Rob. I love the low, stone wall and the feel of the sparse tree against the sky - very moody. The fallen tree on the beach is superbly effective too. My favourites though are the 5th and 6th - the 5th for the contrast in forms and the 6th for the sense of 'lost' in the woods. Lovely. :)

I really like it too Rob and there are too many to comment on. They are all good. I sometimes as you, wander and wonder, how long does a walk as that take, just walking. In other words, how far is it? And since it clears your head for a while, mine should be cleared too after all my walking, but.....Cheer up mate, it's always going up after having reached bottom.:D Sorry the title said it all. Speaking about being clear eh?
