a few from this weekend

Ha, great shots, Beth. The last was a rude surprise after the re-enactment shots. Love the canon shot. Hope that's not friendly fire? They do seem to be pointing the canon at their own troops...

Nice eclectic group Beth. That canon shot is excellent. Having lived in VA for 20 years...AND being a born Yankee...I'm still amazed at the difference in the beliefs of why there was such a horrible war. They have reenactments up here with a very different perspective.

brilliant, a snap shot of a different world from here in the UK, I like it !!

thanks guys. the colors in #2 & 3 were pretty much like that. they were in a shaded area and the wind was blowing the smoke from the canon through the woods. we visited the encampment around dinner on saturday night before and went back on sunday for the skirmish. the drummer was being taught how to drum on saturday. by sunday he only knew one beat.

Fine shot of the Tesla, Beth. Must have belonged to one of the generals. (Not a Yankee one I hope--A Tesla famously failed to perform as promised in a recent test drive south from NY.)

I'd love to see the canon shot image rendered like a Daguerrotype. (Of course, a true Dag wouldn't capture the action as you have, but who cares?)

Nice set.

odd you should say that. some tesla guys were testing it on the hills and curves around shenandoah np and was so close to running out of battery the test drivers just parked it and were waiting for tesla to bring a charger. i'd also heard about the dead battery between dc and ny. i asked the driver if tesla really sued top gear because they said the battery died too quickly and he laughed at me.

Don't know what Top Gear said but I believe the problematic test drive was done by a NY Times reporter, and Elon Musk got his knickers in a twist over it. (Damn Yankees!;))

top gear did a road test of the tesla roadster. their road tests usually involve some high speed laps of the track, sliding around corners and lots of tire smoke. top gear said that when they drove it on the track the range of miles on one charge went from 200 miles to about 50. tesla sued for defamation and it was eventually thrown out by the court.

i was really hoping fisker would survive. i like their cars better than tesla's.

no idea how long the tesla guys in shenandoah were driving around. but i can imagine it took tesla a while to bring them some juice. at least they pulled in the parking lot across the street from the only gas station in the park.
