thanks kev :)

I dont take many protraits and i am not very clued up on technique. but i dont like that blue background at all, very distracting away from your model, also i would have preffered some eye contact or maybe a lower down POV as you seem to be looking down on the guy.

really sorry for the negativity, just my opinion & i am sure many will disagree with me

D

it's fine :) it's in response to a photographer named james bowden, who often uses fairly saturated colours, hence the blue being so bright, he also does use models who face away, hence how the model is stood :)

I just looked at your flickr, and for my preference the BW of the guy in the archway is truly awesome. I guess if you colour mage is based on someones else idea then fair play to you :)

yeah it's who we had to do for my photography course (yipee) luckily now we get more free reins as regards style we do }

thank you very much, i'm quite chuffed with it, it was only a quick snap - i love my 35mm 1.8 , but i'm hoping to get the sigma 10-20 at the end of the month, do you have the f3.5 or the 4-5.6 ? :)

I like it jack.... As you've probably guessed. Lol
What makes it different for me is that Scott is not looking at the camera which makes it that much more mysterious, not bieng able to see his eyes takes clearly, hiding his character almost, taking it away from the mundane 'look at the camera passport shot'
Okay, I may have to say the saturation of the blue is slightly heavy, but only by a bit.
But the general idea of the shot does it for me!
Very well exicuted! :) :)

thanks everyone, i'll post some more stuff soon :D

I think it's a good shot!
The central position of his face in the frame works well with the lowered glance and the blue and pale skin tones work well together! Not so much now I don't think but a few years ago this sort of thing was fairly fashionable
My only comment would be that I wouldnt have gone for such a narrow crop, I'd have placed him lower left in the frame
