Abandoned and lost to time...

Abandoned and lost to time is this old Comet Tank laid bare on a Lincolnshire beach. The sea is very slowly dissolving what remains. First brought here in the early seventies, it was used as a target by aircraft on what used to be a military firing range. The whole area was scoured of munitions during the late seventies and eighties but this relic remained stuck in the sand. Over the last ten years or so the beaches along here are being over taken by salt marsh.

Along the same kind of subject, here are some concrete WW1 and WW2 remains. Located at Kilnsea in the East Riding of Yorkshire, this was one of the magazines for a huge pair of gun emplacements. Now smashed by the North Sea the place looks straight out of some post apocalypse movie.

And again, in keeping with the original title, an old school petrol pump in the market town of Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire.
