An Evening With

Such a busy day, I never got time to play with my new camera, and Scarlett kept bugging me again...So just a quick scout around my room this evening trying to find something to shoot. Found this photo in a book cupboard. It shows me holding Rhona on the day she was born. Next to it is a video - just a one-off copy which the wag who made it for me put the title on the side, "An Evening With". Bit of a laugh.

X-E1 and Nik Silver with green filter...

I set the Focus Frame on the video title. First time I've used such a technique. I usually just focus on one thing, then recompose if needs be. Not sure which is the best method. This one worked well.

I do Worry about you Rob sometimes..............only sometimes though ;)

So how you getting to grips with the new toy?

I need to know as it's on my list of maybes I really need a kick up the eff stop.

From what I've seen you were made for each other.:)

Kev - no need to worry about me. I can do that myself. :)

I've only had the camera since yesterday, but I do love it already. Recommended. The lens is superb too.

Pete - I know what you mean. I also like seeing people's bookshelves. Maybe we could have a bookshelves theme?

Nice Rob. I like it when someone trys to create a picture of themselves...and Bookshelves tell a lot about a person. Of course they may go the way of dial phones and actually talking to someone.

Rob, this is a nice one. It gives a feeling of peeking into someones personal life, jus because it's behind a glass door and framed dividers. The joy on your face of becoming a father, the books you read. A meaningful composition that conveys a nice story. :)

Glenn, you might be right. I've bought and read a few books with the Kindle app on my iPad. However, I've noticed I'm drifting back to paper copies - the last three books have all been paper. Sadly, though, I've also noticed that publishers, suffering from the squeeze, are using cheaper, courser paper, which I find off putting. The Golden Age of books is over, how long will the tail off last?
