Any idea how to extract lenses from a Vario shutter?

I'm working on a minor project inspired by the 6x3 images from the Isolette L post on 35mmc, and a desire to achieve Xpan-esque results for greatly reduced expense. Being victimised are a Kodak 66 Model II and a Helios 44 that I took apart and can't get to go back together quite right. The Kodak 66 uses a #00 Vario shutter and an Anaston 75mm f6.3 lens. My present difficulty is that I can't deduce how to extract these two inmost lenses. The front focusing lens was easily removed, but these aren't, with no visible means of unscrewing them or otherwise. Any ideas?

I see two holes in the lighter coloured annular ring that look like the kind of places I'd try sticking the points of a lens spanner into. Have you tried that?
