Critique Welcomed Apartment on Emerald Street

There looks an Egyptian influence to this one, Brian, to my eyes at least. There's no need to travel the world - you have it all here. What are those criss-cross things, right and left?

Mere embellishments, Rob. I don't see what purpose they serve other than to perhaps allow some air flow on the balconies or to shield the residents while allowing them to fire upon attackers. (We're not far from LA. :rolleyes:)
 
I like the near symmetry of this Brian and, once again, the tones. It does have an ancient Egyptian feel to it. A modern processionary way.

I wonder if some former ornamentation was removed from above the arches though.
It's possible Pete. Apartment buildings here are often named. The space above the arches may have been intended for that. Thanks, Pete.
