In my territory, seawater / ocean splashes over the edge at times and form ponds up on land. It some times takes some time before the water evaporates so in between that time this Canadian figure was in such a position that I had the time to photograph the man as his reflection formed in the pond 
Or did I misunderstand your statement completely Julian

Thank you Pete, it made sense to me too standing on land photographing the one who was closer to the see / ocean as I was
Guess I'll have to fly down to Cornywall to see how he's doing, right Pete. Or has his Merlin gone down the drain?
