Aurora Book Shop

Edinburgh has a wonderful collection of book shops. Here's one near the botanics. Susan had ordered a Ist Edition of poems by Scotland's other bard, Hugh MacDairmid, and we went to collect it.

Book shops, like cafes, must always be in black and white. That's a Law.

DP2M. Nae editing.

This is just the sort of thing that I actually find it hard to comment on ... I really love it, so atmospheric and lovely to look at that I really have no comment other than that I really like it.

Thanks, Hamish. Three comments from you, despite finding it hard to comment on ;)

I also like them a lot. You need a very particular light for this sort. One where everything seems still. And then your job is to not interfere. Just quietly point and shoot, as they say. I'm glad they worked out. No editing involved at all. Straight jpegs from the Merrill.

You do indeed!
I love it, it's my favourite type of photography, sort of perfection in chaos if that makes any sense?
I was saying to Pete the other day how similar the merel cameras black and white results are to xp2 ... Yours at least... I think that is another thing that draws me to this element of your style

Cheers. I've just commented on your church shots, and can definitely see the similarities. When I shoot film - which I must do again soon - I do like XP2. In fact, I think I'll go and order some for the Hexar.
