Bicycle

The bicycle has been my main means of transport since I started moving around outside the home. Rather than a means of transport, I see it as a means of communication, because in a city like mine, the bicycle is as fast as the car or the tram (probably faster), but it has the characteristic of facilitating encounters and therefore the exchange of humanity. I can only imagine what it might mean for you Rob to be able to walk around the neighbourhood after months of extreme confinement. Walking is also a beautiful means of communication.

This photo conveys a sense of calm.

I’ve always been a good walker, easily walking miles a day. But now I have a walking stick, and need rest stops every five minutes. But it’s a start of my walking rehabilitation. Hence the growing number of photographs in my local vicinity. By the Spring, I hope to be walking much further. I’ve had bikes before, but very much prefer walking.

I felt calm taking the shot.
