I think I like the smaller leaf where the detail is a little more in your face ... If you follow Pete? It's sorta what the images feel like they should be about for me, the normally unacknoledged extent of detail ... If that makes sense?
 
No problem Hamish. I know exactly what you mean and I was looking at this again this evening and thinking this would be much more interesting in close-up. It is still in the clamp and so I will re-shoot it tomorrow. It also looked old from behind with the light shining through but I was too lazy to move things!
 
I like the cropped version better, Pete. A wee bit red in it and it could be a Martian landscape as seen from not-too-distant space.
