Bokeh of a duck

In one of my recent travels, I visited a Chinese restaurant, called "Duck something". The name of the restaurant was also advertised inside by this small wood carving of a duck and her ducklings, and having the Nikon F3 with me I stopped and shot a closeup of the thing, on my way out. The film was a Kodak Double XX rated in my camera at 160; lens Nikkor 50/1.2. This film is a new one for me, never shot it before, so some tests were in order. Processed it in 510-Pyro, 6 1/2 mins. Doesn't look bad.

This is pretty intense/wonderful bokeh. I am surprise at the quantity of circles. What was the background?

Some plants in the hallway of the restaurant, and further back, lights from the entrance. I was surprised myself to see this bokeh.
