Hi
I hope I have posted in the right part (still learning).

I have just ordered the book "Canon T70 by Richter, Gunter," for the grand total of one penny (plus post). I like reading and look forward to this book arriving. Question is, is this a useful book? I know I can't complain at the price either way, but what can it tell me that the instruction manual doesn't?

ps the bargain T70 that I recently acquired is growing on me rapidly; I like some of the features, and it is a bit more flexible than the T50 (which I also like very much.)

Many thanks.

I have no experience of this book, but I have read camera books that aren't manuals as such. The one I read came across much more like old school camera instructions. It would talk you through how to use the camera to solve a particular problem rather than just telling you what the modes do and how to work them ... Does that make sence?

Well the T70 book arrived, and I also pushed the boat out ordered one on the T90 by Richard Hunecke. The T90 one cost 2 pence, so you can see that I was rather extravagant.
I have skim-read them and they are really well written books, especially the T90 which goes into a lot of theory (a bit like revising stuff that I had forgotten.) There are also a lot of features in the cameras which are described in much more detail than the user manuals.
All in all, and for the silly money they are now available at, they are really good books for those who like the "T" Canons, plus there is a lot of info on the FD lenses, and other "T" accessories. Worth every penny (three in all+post.) The T95 book was 16.95 US Dollars in 1993 according to the sticker on it.
I commend them to the house :)
