Cafe Society

Like all those straight lines and oblongs, the ornate façade . The environment with the ladies and gentlemen on the grown floor, I wonder if you get elevated to be a statue on the upper levels after a time.

Thanks, Julian. I was at a loss for what to call this one. I was imagining the gods above watching us. But I couldn't think of anything witty, so "Cafe Society" it is...

It does have a bygone age feel about it, some to do with the architecture, but also something about privilege although I suspect it is open to anyone.
The title is good. spot on.

A great shot Rob, is it in Edinburgh? There's something to it which I can't explain, but the black and white work is excellent. I think I mentioned thsat before. Won't happen again.

Please mention it as many times as you wish ;) Yes, it is in Edinburgh, in the National Museum of Scotland. Wonderful place, which I have photographed many times.

Perhaps next time I'm back I'll get a chance to visit there Rob. You've shot some fabulous foties in that local. This one included. (I love how the statues on the 2nd flair "pop" out.)

I cannae wait tae see the place wi' my ain eyes. (And tak' some foties of course! :))

Cheers, Brian. You just have to avoid the ground floor, which is full of mum's pushing around prams full of screaming bairns. They tend to stay on that level, as, I admit, I used to when pushing Rhona around in her pram. But the rest of the place is magnificent and quiet.
