Canon EF 50mm 1.4

I've seen some write-ups on the 50mm 1.2 that echo your experience Randell - also some that love it

It's a worrying question mark when you factor in the cost!

It's on my list, along with the 85mm - so one day I hope to be able to report back

Who knows maybe it was a manufacturing quality issue, I hate to blame Canon for things like this but it wouldn't be the first time for 'bad batches', to leave their factories. The warranty has got a long time to run yet, so I think I'll get it checked by Canon and if its a duffer I'll ask that they exchange it. I'll let you know how I get on.
