My long standing and faithful G9 is dying. It no longer sets to Tv or Av. The image view does not work and it produces some horrible yellow toning on skin in close portraits. Apart from that it is still pretty good. I must admit I really like this camera for its quality and portability. It suits my long fingers well.
Now the crunch. Replace with a new G15 or go one better with either a G1x or other brand like the Panasonic GX1 or Fuji X10?
I can get a 14-42 PZ pancake for my GF-1 and get close to the portability with a better sensor? This would be about half the price of a replacement and reduce my camera count which may buy me more latitude to add another SLR sometime later this year. Unfotunately I have the 14-45 with the GF-1 but it is not that compact so often gets left and the G9 taken instead. The 14-45 may not be worth much on ebay!
I am currently leaning toward the pancake option and putting the rest aside toward a D600 or D800 around April.
Sanity check or advice welcome.
