Capture those bright greens before they're gone...

It's only mid-April but already the Louisiana daytime highs are in the upper 80s F (lower 30s C) so it's not long until the bright spring greens dull to darker summer hues. So yesterday I took an hour drive down to Chicot State Park, south of me. Until today (of course) it's been bluebird skies, clear blue with no clouds, but there was warm sunrise light, at least. Here are a few from that outing.

Great shots, indeed @Len Philpot. I particularly love the last two.

I love these. Did you have to fight the environment to capture these (mud, mosquitos, flies, smells)?

Sorry for the late reply -- I'm away from home and my Internet activity has been somewhat reduced (probably not a bad thing!).

To answer your question, yes and no. This early in the season there are definitely mosquitoes but they're nowhere near as numerous as they'll become as it continues to warm up. By June / July they'll be horrendous and won't subside until probably November / December. Mud? It's there, but can be worked around. Smells? Just the usual swampish outdoor stuff. :)

In general this type of environment is not nearly as pleasant as nicer places such as the mountains.

Thanks.
