In Regensburg, Germany, there is this contemporary totemic sculpture depicting a stylised catfish (https://www.regensburg.de/kultur/kulturdatenbank/eintrag/420608). A few dozen metres further on, in the banks of the riverbank, there is another catfish, carved in stone centuries ago, in a more modest tone.
