Coupeville is a tiny, picturesque town on Whidbey Island in Washington state, USA. Despite its diminutive size (listed as 1.23 square miles), it is the county seat of Island County.

Not only super perspective and framing, but the tonality changes this image from just a fine picture of the pier into something else, something far more sinister in some ways, despite the gift shot etc signs. The absence of people helps too.

Thanks, Pete. "Sinister" is an adjective that wouldn't have occurred to me. But maybe you see it as sinister in the same way "the Village" was sinister for No. 6,...in which case I totally get it.
