Crummy cloudy day X100

No dog pictures.......I didn't take one today. However it was overcast and dreary the whole day. It rained off and on the whole walk so I mostly kept the camera in the ziploc bag. I don't know how to compensate for that. Do you use that little exposure compensation wheel? And I'm embarrassed to admit, I don't know how to use a flash.

Also I don't think the red berries got any better. I think I'm throwing in the towel on them. :(

Nice set there Steve, don't know what you're on about with the berries - it's a great shot :)

I like the muted tones on the wood etc. And those berries just need a bit more separation from the background I think. I like the way the glow against browns behind - hope you don't mind.

Well beyond the need for compositional, focusing, and the way too heavy handed Alien Skin Velvia simulation processing...yes I think you have nailed it on the background separation. :D

Seriously Pete I really appreciate your input. Lord knows I need the help. Would I do that by cranking up the shadows? Seriously, I basically just punch around on the Lightroom cluelessly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! And in case you were wondering how my morning went, my dogs rolled on a dead opossum. [doh]

Also- It is brighter on my monitor and the blacks aren't quite so heavy. I really need to find a Neo-Luddite commune and move in.
