So is this the intersection of two waterways Pete. We also have an intersection of sorts with two structures if you like. Somewhat metaphorical indeed. Very nice order to everything with nothing being disturbed.

Thanks all. The contrast of the decking and the geometry of the seating with the river and treeline is what appealed. Also the way the supports of the seat mirrored the apartment buildings on the horizon. I kept the DoF narrow to emphasise the isolation of this end of the island (it does feel isolated here) from the world beyond as this is the point at which the River Havel splits into the canal and the river proper as it passes Freunschaftsinsel. It re-joins further downstream.
