im trying to decide if I might benefit from swapping my current 85mm 1.4 and 70-200 for the new 85mm 1.4 and a 135 dc ... Or maybe a 105 vr micro ... I don't really use the long end of the 200 mm ... And when I have I didn't need to ...

Yes, I have the 105mm f1:2.0 AF-DC.
To be honest I was rather disappointed with the effect and find the 85mm 1:1.4 much more useful and it gives a more satisfying effect. I have no experience of the 135mm though although I really like my ancient pre-ai (but ai'd) ones. Slow to focus but they give, to my eyes, a very distinctive look.

It's not so much the effect that I'm after ... It's a fast longer tele that appeals ...
I'd love an old 85, had a quick go with one in LCE the other day ... Just the build of them is lust worthy enough
