Everybody Smile!

Brilliant Rob.
The filmstrip nature of it really appeals and although the bus is almost empty the people in the adverts almost become the actual passengers in a triple decker bus all enjoying smiling for the photographer.
Having sight of the lonely passenger in the bottom deck adds even more and the white car in the bg ensures we get a nice view of him.

Cheers, Tom. I had about five seconds, as it was stuck in traffic. The car behind is actually a police car. I was up a flight of stairs, luckily bringing me level with the smiley faces. Too good to miss. I agree it is enhanced by there only being one 'real' passenger. And, you are right, it does look like a film strip.

I really don't know how to interprete your answer Rob, on my tablet here it has all the contrast as I think it should have. On my monitor however, it needed more as I saw it. There was no offence meant by me in my reply. Under each forum there it says, " discussions " I probably got it all wrong being a norseman!:(

No offence taken, Ivar. If you want more contrast on your monitor, then apply it. If your tablet and monitor are giving different results, you should look into why. I can't account for everyone having a different look on their own monitor.

I do understand that different people may have different experiences with their monitors and I do believe that my monitor is calibrated to a parameter which is pretty much like most out there since my pictures are perceived as all right colourwise. A different view I'd say would be in black and white and how much contrast each and everyone kind of likes. I simply exclaimed that in this particular matter, a more contrast would be more to my liking here. Which I shall never do again since monitors and people react very differently to both colours and exclamations as referred to and since you also did not ask for any comments. Since we are in a forum where people from around the world take part and English is not their native tongue, there are bound to be misunderstandings at times and misinterpretations. This we should bear in mind as good communication is an artform we seldom master to the fullest.;)

There's no problem, Ivar. You want more contrast. Fair enough. I make comments about your photographs, what they inspire in me, or whatever. But if I would prefer (for example) less colour saturation, or indeed, less or more contrast, that is not something I would raise - I assume you have made considerations and decisions about things like that, especially if you do not ask for advice. And I can always adjust my screen if it was that important to me. I'd much rather discuss the topic of your image, not whether or not I would like more or less contrast or colour.

I appologise since I think we have misunderstood each other and as I seem to be the source of that. I may have expressed myself to an extent that lead to this misunderstanding by solely saying; " Very good

Rob, but I'd like a little bit more contrast." I should not have expressed the contrast bit and what I like. Again I appologise. All the best to you.

Excellent image Rob. No idea how I missed this one. It did fool me initially before clicking that it was an advert. Only for a moment mind but all the better for it.

This really works well for all the reasons mentioned. And the thing (child's head?) is intriguing. I keep looking through though at that police car and trying to see if there is something going on over there. Something which the smiling crowd is oblivious to.
