Critique Required Fabric

I have been trying out various ideas for a continuation of the still life project I started a while ago. I have become interested in the still life and drapery photographs of John Stewart and I wanted to just concentrate on fabric and to see if anything interesting can come out of it. So far I have come up with this and just wanted to know what people think about it. If people don't like it they are more than welcome to say so, just say why.

I honestly think it is very beautiful, and, yes, dance-like. It has energy. The whites don't look overblown anywhere, and there are lots of nice curvy shadows.

More, please...

Thanks for the positive comments. I took these over a week ago and kept coming back to them and thinking "Do I like Them"? "I think I do", "But they're just bits of cloth" etc, etc. I do have some more, one is not as energetic as this, the other a bit more so and another I am still undecided on.

This is a little more still but I like the "hung" element to it.

This is a bit more energetic and has a more musical feel to it because the of ribbon-like nature but maybe a little corny?

I like these, some nice shadows. The last one I agree does have a lot more life to it, it looks like a interesting project to pursue.

Thanks Vic. Good to see you back (again). I think I will continue to pursue this, it is really a continuation of some figure and still life photographs I took a while ago. I really need a horizontal cross bar for my tripod so I can position the camera better. Well, that's just my excuse to justify buying one anyway. :)

Paul, these are very nice. I like the first and the third one. The tonality and the separation of the back-ground with the angle of light is very nice. To me, they are "the inner struggle of the fabric" and "the journey of the resolved fabric". :)
