Few French Birds

while in France i hired this fine small cottage barn conversion on a rural farm 30 mins outside paris, it proved to be an excellent choice and really nice place.

Each morning at breakfast i was sat at the table with the window open, directly below the window was a small river full of fish (that i amused my self by feeding them bread crust each morning) also a few geese & ducks. There are also lots of over hanging trees.

As i was feeding the fish the bread and the water was splashing around alot as they chased the bread, a bright blue blur landed on the water, grabbed a fish and disappeared it all happened so quickly. I was totally amazed that i thought i had just seen a king fisher feeding. This happened every morning it seemed only when i fed the fish. I didnt try to photograph this as it all happened so quickly. I was chuffed as i had never seen a king fisher before. ;) (If that's what it was)

Anyhow here are few more bird photos i did managed to take from a trip to "Provins Medieval City" were they had an awesome bird show amongst the castle / city walls

Thanks for looking

Love the way you've exposed the last one so you don't see the brown feathers of the body, just a dark background around the white head.

cheers Glen, that last shot in question was in a large cage / aviary behind wire mesh so i was quite chuffed with outcome.

It had rather distracting wooden paneling background so i adjusted contrast & blacks in adobe raw was quite simple really
