Fight!

I make no apologies for this. My husband would say this is out of focus and too dark... so I haven't shown it to him.

The truth is that I wanted to capture the kitten playing with his best friend. It's difficult to describe Merlin (the black and white cat). He came to us as brain damaged and although he is very bright and an incredible hunter, he is far from normal. His way of trying to play with our other cats in the early days was to grab them round the throat. Needless to say he didn't make any friends like that and for the most part they keep out of his way. Then we got the kitten and I must admit I was worried Merlin might hurt him accidentally. I needn't have worried. Bubu watched him closely and learnt how to play Merlin's way and the two of them are inseparable.

The next problem is that the kitten doesn't go outside yet and the old lodge is far from photogenic on the inside. I got lucky with the action, but was desperate to disguise the grubby carpet tiles in the kitchen. Hence I've come over all artistic...

Oh... wow! Thank you for the kind comments. I kind of liked the body shapes, but after I posted I very nearly chickened out. If it hadn't been nearly bed time I would have been opening it up in PS again

I have tried, and failed, to shoot playing cats on many occasions, so well done for capturing such a great moment. The expression on Merlin's face is excellent.

The white bits of your cats are very white, which detergent do you use? Daz? Persil?
