Another from yesterdays sojourn...

Sitting on a 50 ft cliff overlooking the Moray Firth, this ruin oozes atmosphere with the sounds of the waves and the seabirds...

The "banding" on the horizon is a snow shower making it's way over the firth...

Very nice shot. Looking at old castles built in such inaccessible locations really brings home how cruel life must have been back then.

It dates back to about 1240, and was apparently built to withstand visits from Ivars horned helm wearing ancestors...!
