Flea Market .... Anyone?

Which one of you from the shire is going to Malvern today?

Isn't your skin waterproof?! :D:D
No problems :)

The weather won't hold me back. Game on!

Anyone else?

3 counties show ground....
Plenty of cameras and other things to suit the vintage scene.

I'm sure due to the wether that it's going to be inside.

On my own wouldn't be a problem but the dog doesn't want to go outside ! and then I'd have to take my mother as well as I can't leave her at home alone.

It's at the Three Counties but stall holders will leave early and because the forecast was bad there will be far less there anyway, and it's likely to be extremely muddy. The more upmarket antiques side is inside.

Ooooohh, I'm stumped.
Should I stay or should I go?! :/

I can't Adam and Eve it!!
There were so many people inside, not mega busy but more than I anticipated. Nobody outside at all due to the weather (dreadful).

After keeping my beady eye out for cameras walking up and down 90 mile an hour dodging people at the same time, I came across a few stand that caught my eye. There was a chap who was selling a Nikon F4 with tripod, lens, and wanted 190 sheets for it which I simply didn't have, let alone parting that much for it even if I did. It looked quite haggard. But anyway....... On to my bargains.

I picked up the following on my visit.
* Zenit E with a 58mm f/2 lens
* Yashica IC rangefinder with a fixed 45mm f/1.8
* Ricoh 500g rangefinder
And a free Polaroid One600 chucked in the bag.. All for a grand total of £10.00!!!

They went through a series of testing before I picked them up. After a good clean with the Zenit, the lens and function is lovely (meter does not work, but I'm happily adapted to manual now)
The Yashica is stunningly clean.
The Ricoh, well this will need attention as the light seal all over the inside is as sticky as tar on a hot day, but the function of it is working fine (I wasn't going to moan for £2!!)

I'm very flabbergasted with this as anyone should be. I was told on the 3 purchases that they just wanted shot of them so that they didn't have anything to take back......

Leaving a visit to the flea market late may risk all the good stuff going first thing, but I certainly didn't have to negotiate with any prices from those tired traders on a rainy day.

Check them out!!!!

I'm a happy bunny! :):)

Nice does the lynx work?
That Helios-44 alone is nice bit of gear ... Good few of us on here with one of them! It's the Russian version of the biotar that you had off me! Basically identical in terms of results ... Especially an older one like that!

I believe @Chris Dodkin has a Ricoh just like that!

That zenit should make a nice door stop or paper weight too ... It might even offer better door stopping services than that practica bms of yours

Yeah, the Lynx works fine. Just put a tester/scrap roll of film in it to see if it winds properly... No probs with that. The camera is mint.
I may have to dismantle the head to brush a bit of fungus/dust out from viewfinder... Just slightly hazy.
But I LOVE the focus assist in it. Works nice.
Needs to check it out with a set of batteries, but as mentioned before, I'm quite happy going fully manual. :)

The Helios is mint, just a faint circular scratch on it which is barely noticeable. Can't wait to scar a few rolls with that glass!

I'm was sure I had seen the Ricoh on here from Chris, nice one for clarifying that H.
A fair bit of work to do to it to get it up to scratch though.... Even if it didn't work, still a pretty little shower to go on the shelf along side with the other species. And for 2 nuggets.... What can I say! A nice little project on my hands that I will happily share the process with all of you. :)

Is the Lynx your first Rangefinder?

I suppose it is..... If you exclude the Oly trip 35 which is not really a 'proper' rangefinder, only the 35RD, DC, and the SPN are, the the answer is yes :)
First two decent rangefinders for less than a fiver :) get in!!!!
