I'm in a black mood today...as you can see. I had sent a roll of film to Ilford for development, but it never arrived, now declared lost. 36 shots of my Water of Leith river project, including two or three of wife and daughter on Christmas Day. I intended to wait until the postal rush of Christmas and New Year was over, but Ilford said that anyone who posted film between Christmas Day and New Year would get a free fridge magnet. How could I resist?! I should have. But such is life.

I must be in a dark mood too, because I love those images. They have a Victorian Gothic feel to them, I am remnded of items of mourning jewellery that turn up on TV antiques shows occasionally.

I got two fridge magnets and an FP4 lapel badge! Worth losing a film for any day

The experience has pushed me into developing my own film. I've ordered a changing bag, tank and reels, spool opener, wetting agent, and for chemicals I'm going the easy route with the Cinestill Df96 Monobath. I'll record it all for a post here.
