Free diving with Great Whites

Who would believe someone would free-dive unprotected with great white sharks in the open ocean unless you had photos to prove it.

Divers William Winram, Fred Buyle and Pierre Frolla do just that.

No shark cage. No spear gun or knife. Just cameras.

The only way to get photographs of me free diving with Great Whites would be using Photoshop.
However I would go in with Great Whites in a shark proof cage with a shark proof, chain-mail wetsuit.

Lifeguard spotted a Great White off of a San Diego beach yesterday - 18" fin, so probably a 15' juvenile

Beach shut down for two miles the rest of the day

Makes sense to me!

That one with the guys in the cage really puts these animals in perspective. And then you think, so where was the photographer? Great shots but definitely ones to look at and NOT take in my book!!

I think sharks are fortunate that they live in the ocean.

Because if they were a land based predator, mankind would have wiped them out already!

I just look at that second shot and think how perfectly designed they are for the universe they inhabit.
