Fuji HS30

Has anyone tried one as looking to get one at the end of the month I cannot justify paying double the price for the X-S1 for almost the same features (Cheapest HS30 is £195 new the X=S1 is over £300 for a refubished) I suppose I will find out the mysteries of RAW as well!!

I've not tried one, but I remember being suitably impressed with the hs10. The handling is certainly a step up from the smaller fuji bridge cameras! Raw is nothing to worry about ... It just happens and you don't look back!

Hows life treating you?

Dave, i bought my nephew this camera for xmas 2011 and its chuffing brilliant for the price. Picture quality is really great, i am defo impressed and so is he.

it has tons of features, great lcd that can be angled and awesome zoom

Thanks Hamish and Darren life not to bad except for dropping my S4000 so the flash fires all the time and under exposes everything that doesnt need a flash!! hence the new equipment even gone back to using the S2500hd must admit after reading reviews and various other bits def going for the HS over the X-S1 as for the lens Darren your not joking its good 22mm(although Fuji reckon its 24) to 726mm with what they call intelligent zoom taking it out to a massive 1400mm or 60X and 14 elements as opposed to the cheaper fuji zooms 4 element (the x-s1 is 16 element for the same zoom) handled it in jessops on thursday and everything feels right on it checked online for the price which is now only £195 +delivery (£215 delivered)at the cheapest the X-S1 was nearly double that one thing which I have noticed though is most reviewers are recommending using it at 8mp rather than the 16mp. The reason for waiting till the end of the month though is I had an email from Fuji UK today informing me that all the returned stock from Jessops will be sold as refurbished stock through its website from 28th Jan and to watch for great deals!!;)

Although it shows out of stock at the moment, Fuji Refurbs are always a sure bet and if you enter P10FEB15 into the voucher box, you will get a 10% discount.

I bought my X10 off them and it was absolutely brand spanking new and in a non-refurb box.

I suspect that the returned Jessops stocks and the impending arrival of the HS50 will affect prices so I always have a shufti each day on the site to see what is available.

The HS20, at £163 delivered next day is a stonking deal and is ideal for those who prefer a AA battery powered camera.

I almost thought about the HS20 myself and if its dropped to £163 that is over the past couple of days as it was £183 before the reason for myself going for the hs30 over the 20 is the battery and the viewfinder resolution which was more than quadrupled in the hs 30
