Fuji S5 Question

funnily enough I was going to buy one before I bought the Canon and there is still a possibility i'll buy the S3 as a spare. I love Fuji's and think they give brilliant picture quality, just a personal opinion of course

Superb camera! Slow by today's standards especially shooting raw, but you won't notice unless you need to take a few shots in quick succession.
Takes lovely photos, nice broad dynamic range, good solid body, takes Nikon lenses... Nice bit of kit!

dont bother with the s3 Davie, the s5 can be had for practically the same money and it makes the 3 feel like a toy

In fact, I should add, it was slow when it came out ...
i had a d300 and s5 pro as my first and second body respectively and it was that way round because of its shot to shot speed

Still, broad dynamic range and lovely colours where what kept it in te bag until the d3 came along ... I nearly bought one not long ago actaully, but missed out on it in the end.

Hi Steve
I has S1 pro & S2 pro. 3mp & 6mp. S1 was just a film camera with some digital gubbins.
S2 was lush upto iso1600. I had a Nikon 18-55vr on the S2 & M42 lenses with adapter.

Fujis were always nice for skin tones, DR, and Fuji colour.
S5 was supposed to have the best DR & higlight recovery until Nikon's D700 (i think, not sure).
Even now portrait & wedding photogrpahers who have a S5 really appreciate its skin tones.

If of interest we have a lovely clean example in our used section at present & it is like new & very very clean, was a favourite amongst school photographers as it could be set up to read barcodes for different classes which no other brand could do as far as I know.Give me a call if of interest to you & we could sort something out for you.

Hi Steve, we have 2 S5s mounted on microscopes. I much preferred it to the S2 but I think its low light performance was rather over-stated. However, it (and the S2) was / is superb with skin tones. It has a decent dynamic range and works well for photomicrography (via the quirky Fuji shooting software) which is why we use them still. And of course it s fully compatible with Nikon's range of lenses.
