This camera arrived today (along with another camera), didn't cost me much as it has a major issue but I know they were £££s when new, feels amazing to hold with everything you need at your fingertips.

Can anyone guess what it is?

DAMMIT lol technically a olympus IS-3000 as this isn't the US model.

Its got a damaged lens - the front element has shattered and the zoom part has come loose, I have just spent the last hour making the camera an 'unabridged' version so to speak :D

Sorry, missed the 000 out! :)
Ooh, be interesting to see the 'unbridged' version! :)

Did you pick it up for much?

The camera was sold as 'non working' with damaged lens and shutter, what had actually happened is someone had dropped it, front element shattered and it dislodged the zoom lens section so that nothing could move. I have taken the fixed lens off and basically lens back is mint - mainly due to it being a fixed lens its never open to the elements, I will post up some photos in a bit.

I hope that the camera doesn't notice that the lens is missing - the connectors to the lens seem to just be for all the electrical motors inside the lens to be connected to the controls. Hopefully I can just add a lens mount onto what is there already and mount a different lens. The camera itself is very advanced, it even has a film rewind plus loads of different settings for auto exposure as well as manual. SOOO many functions lol there isn't a hope in hell I will find a replacement lens for it, so I will probably make it a project camera - might look at fitting some 'manual' zoom elements inside where the lens was to focus.

Price for camera - £2.99
Price for original working camera - £££s lol

Bought as a project, there is an IS1000 on the site but the IS3000 sounds better :D

Wow, good little project you have on the go there, can't wait to see how you get on!
Do keep us updated :)
