Health and safety has gone so mad that the concept of health and safety gone mad has almost become a cliche
On the surface of it the assumption of stupidity that bothers me, the idea that the only way one human can survive day to day is via another human telling him or her what not to do via the medium of a brightly coloured sign!
Who decides what signs are nessasary where?
The steps up to my house are steep concrete ... Should I put up a sign? Or do I need to wait for someone to trip on them and crack thier head open before a sign is required?
The route of the issue though and what is more dangerous to society is that it comes down to the what seems to be the necessity to assume the worst in people
The worst type of stupid ie "look at the deep fast flowing water, I know, I'll jump in and go for a swim"
And sadly much more importantly the worst type of greed ie "I'm going to sue you because i tripped over a step and there was no sign telling me there was a step there"
Simply put we aren't trusted take our lives into our own hands any more because of the greed of the minority
Greed that has been brought on by right wing capitalist views... The very same views that were instrumental, over the last few thousand years in forming this idea of assuming the worst in people before even concidering the opposite
In summary, if you have ever voted for a right wing government all this nonsense is your fault!
The solution... revolution!
Where greed is crushed, innocence is the prevailing assumption and we actually try and do the right thing by each other instead of trying get one over on each other all the time ...
Of course that's unlikely ... There are too many greedy morons out there (that must by the right wing tosser in me talking
)
So all in all unfortunately the best bet seems to carry on as we are, basking in apathy saying things like "it's health and safety gone mad" ... How depressing!
