More than the human shadow, I am attracted to the buildings. What is their history?
Surely, though, the presence of that shadow lends meaning to the scene, even if it is new.

Late 19th-century 'flats' or apartments, with one, two or three bedrooms. Built when Edinburgh was expanding rapidly with a workforce that could not afford the expensive 'New Town' flats in the centre of Edinburgh.
