It does indeed have a sort of half-way feel to it. Not as 'vacant' as the follow on and the few items on the windowsill give a sense of impermanence. You can tell it is not home and it is not a hotel room either. Yes, I think this works.

12,000 posts! That means you have far too much time on your hands or that you own a time machine (possibly they both equate to the same thing).
They are in fact hair straighteners Brian so you are half right, I don't curl my hair, look how silky and straight it is.
I guess that maybe I should have linked the two sets better or put them in the same post, possibly with an explanation of the context behind them. perhaps that would have made more sense to people?
