Ok, it's faulty

But the ir filter on the sensor would have cost c.£250 with fitting! Shame it's not a d70 really! They are very easy to change the AA filter on aparently!

And he says it works sometimes ... And I might be able to wangle a cheap repair!

Or get a second d100 for cheap and combine the 2 ...

We shall see what the err message is when I get it!

With a bit of luck it will be something like a bent CF slot pin!

Ooo I'm really getting into this buying broken stuff cheaply ... I'm gonnaend up with a whole load of crap littering my house!

I wonder why they call them IR filters?
Surely it should be visible light filter as that is what it filters out ...

I asked him today if he knew the frequency, he just said as far as he knows it is the "standard filter" ... Which seems to be 720nm ...
I'm so chuffed about this! I've wanted an IR camera for ages, but it's hard to justify the cost really! ... £51 is an absolute steal for this ... I actualy feel slightly bad - despite the camera not actually being in working order!

Yeah, maybe, although I am fairly sure that the rest of the 6mp cameras from this gen used a different sensor...

The filter on the front on the sensor is called a low pass filter, or perhaps slightly more commonly an "AA" (anti-alias) filter ...
