to be honest there wasn't much else I could have done with it :) .... thank you

I like the composition a lot Davie. As you probably know, I'm not a great fan of selective colour. I think this does work quite well although maybe the contrast is a bit too great. What about muted / very faint colour in the trees etc as the contrast with the roof and doors?

i actually have a version like that lol ... i went for the black and white mainly to match the white of the building with the snow as when it's colour it's slightly off. I think if I was to change it i'd bring the red down a bit and still leave the bakground B&W

Actually Davie, i really like the original. I like the difference between the off white walls and the snow. And the dark green of the trees adds the contrast. It looks like it was a dull day with a heavy sky and I like the way you hva captured that mood.

looking between the 2 I see what you mean, the original has a subtlety i didn't appreciate at first

Agreed... The crop will just complete the pic... Very nice shot Davie..

I think the original is the best out of the two. I would be inclined to crop a bit off the right hand side though?

again more good advice , just had a quick look at taking up to the big tree and you're right , it has the effect of framing it.

This is why I love this place :)

I like this place too for the same reason. Not only do I get a lot of good ideas from seeing other peoples images, advice is given and taken in such a constructive way. We also manage to avoid the agro that plagues so many other forums.
