The most significant difference for me is the ISO improvement, I can get to shoot F8 @ 1/500s a lot longer before I had to switch to other modes. I usually do zone focusing, so I haven't used AF enough to notice the improvement yet. But the manual focus ring is a lot more responsive, which I like.
I think these two changes make the most difference to my photography.
