From Dean Bridge, looking onto Dean Village, five minutes' walk from Princes Street, Edinburgh.

Looks more like a "pen and ink" drawing than a photo. I guess that is the 16 end of your 16-50 lens? That is a fine image, has an almost "medieval" feel to it.

Much of it is 17th-19th century, but I get what you are saying about the medieval feel. The bridge I'm standing on was built by Telford, and became the main route into Edinburgh from the north, with a tollbooth at the end of the bridge. You have to imagine the squawking of the crows, or whatever they are, and the cold air. Dean Village is now an expensive area. We could sell our house, and not have enough to buy a small garage there.

The villages I walk through are expensive too, the smallest cottages are 500k plus.

An interesting place to explore and view, a photographer's paradise. Must pay a visit myself one day.

Well, everything looks medieval in this image and a good one it is, but everything is medieval in Scotland, even the man is, except the camera. Are you sure that they are not flying out Rob?:D
